A player's strength level represents their power or how hard they can hit in melee combat. It is mostly favored over attack level, as it increases max hit, which deals more damage to opponents. 

Most weapons and combat equipment give players a strength bonus when worn. A +1 increase in strength bonus is not equivalent to a +1 increase in strength level. It only shows the ability of the weapon or the armour to increase the player’s maximum damage. Generally, two-handed swords have a significantly higher Strength bonus than weapons like daggers made of the same metal.

To compare the strength training weapons, we have compared their DPS on a sand crab. Higher DPS means higher XP per hour, and therefore it will be better to use for strength training. 

Progression of strength training weapons

The better your attack level, the better the weapons that you can use for strength training. We have ordered the strength training weapons from lowest to highest attack. The weapons with higher attack requirements will have higher DPS and therefore also higher XP per hour.

60		Elder Maul	The Elder Maul is obtained as a possible reward from the Chambers of Xeric, and it requires 75 attack and 75 strength to wield. It is the highest-tier crush weapon available in OSRS and also provides the highest strength bonus in the game. Because of this, Pkers mostly use it as a finisher.
65		Saradomin’s blessed sword	It is created by combining Saradomin’s tear with the Saradomin sword. The blessed sword has +18 slash and +6 strength more than the normal type.
65		Soulreaper Axe	The Soulreaper axe is a two-handed axe that requires 80 attack and 80 strength to wield. It can be created by combining four untradeable components namely: Leviathan’s lure, Siren’s staff, Executioner’s axe head, and Eye of the Duke, along with 2,000 blood runes. The untradeable components can be obtained as drops from The Leviathan, The Whisperer, Vardorvis, and Duke Sucellus.
70		Scythe of Vitur	The Scythe of Vitur is a two-handed slash weapon that requires 80 attack and 90 strength to wield. It is obtained as a rare drop from the Theatre of Blood.
70		Blade of saeldor	This provides the highest strength and slash bonus out of any weapon for its attack speed. It is tied for the strongest one-handed melee weapon, with the Ghrazi rapier and the Inquisitor’s mace. Players can create the blade of Saeldor via a singing bowl by combining 100 crystal shards and an enhanced crystal weapon seed.
75		Ghrazi rapier	The Ghrazi rapier is a one-handed stab weapon that can be obtained as a rare drop from the Theatre of Blood.
