Magic Armours provide the wearer with magic bonuses, improving their magic attack and defence. They provide little to no ranged or melee bonuses except the splitbark, lunar, and Ahrim’s armour, which provide some melee protection. This guide provides the best magic armours, starting from the armours available at a low level and then progressing to the highest level.

40	1	Elder Chaos robes	886K	The Elder Chaos robes can be obtained as a rare drop from the Elder Chaos druids. Each piece gives a magic damage bonus of 1% for a total of 3%.
40	20	Mystic robes	147K	Mystic Robes are quite popular, they require 40 magic and 20 defence to equip. They come in five different variations. This includes blue, light, dark, dusk, and shattered mystic robes. The full outfit comprises the mystic hat. Mystic robe top, mystic robe bottom, mystic gloves, and mystic boots.
40	20	Enchanted robes	150K	Enchanted robes can be obtained by completing a hard Treasure Trail. They have the same stats as Mystic robes.
40	40	Splitbark armour	74K	The Splitbark armour is the weakest of the bark-type magic armours, it requires 40 magic and 40 defence to wield and gives some melee defence bonuses as well. The full outfit comprises Splibark helm, Splitbark body, Splitbark gauntlets, Splitbark legs, and Splitbark boots.
40	40	Skeletal armour	334K	Skeletal pieces are only dropped by Wallasalkis on Waterbirth Island. It can only be worn after the completion of the Fremennik Trials. The armour shares similar bonuses as Splitbark
42	42	Void Knight Equipment	850 pest control commendation points	The Void Knight equipment requires 42 attack, strength, defence, ranged, hitpoints, and magic, with 22 prayer. It cannot be bought from the grand exchange and can only be bought from the Void Knight with commendation points from the Pest Control mingame. The outfit gives high defence for a magic robe and gives the highest ranged defence bonus of all magic robes. It also gives a 45% accuracy bonus to your spells. The complete outfit comprises of Void mage helm, Void knight top, Void knight robe, and the Void knight gloves.
50	50	Swampbark armour	239K	Swampbark armour requires 50 magic and 50 defence to wear. It can be made by combining the Splibark armour with nature runes at the Nature altar after reading the Runescroll of Swampbark with level 48 runecraft. Creating the full set costs 1,450 nature runes in total. It comprises the Swampbark helm, Swampbark body, Swampbark legs, Swampbark gauntlets, and Swampbark boots.
60	60	Bloodbark armour	570K	The complete Blood armour set requires 60 magic and 60 defence to equip. In addition to its bonuses, it provides a 10% increase in the healing effect of blood spells. It has similar stats to the Mystic Armour set but provides high melee defence bonuses. It consists of Bloodbark helm, Bloodbark body, Bloodbark legs, Bloodbark gauntlets, and Bloodbark boots.
70	40	Dagon'hai robes	2.7M	These can be obtained from Larran’s big chest at a rate of 1/256 per piece. They are Zomarak-affiliated items.
70	70	Ahrim the blighted's robes	8.5M	The Ahrim the Blighted’s robes are high-level magic armour that also provides strong Melee and Magic Defence. It is very popular and can be obtained from the Barrows minigame. It is relatively cheap but requires repairing after every 15 hours of combat. The full outfit consists of Ahrim’s hood, Ahrim’s robetop, Ahrim’s robeskirt, and Ahrim’s staff.
75	50	Blue Moon armour	7M	The Blue Moon armour can be obtained as a possible reward from Lunar Chest in Neypotzli. When the full set is worn, the player gains the frostweaver set effect where after casting a bind spell the bind moon spear has a 20% chance for its next melee attack to be unaffected by action delays.
75	65	Ancestral robes	325M	The Ancestral robes are the best in the slot for magic attack bonuses, they are a rare drop from Chambers of Xeric requiring 75 magic and 65 defence. Each piece provides a 3% bonus. They don’t degrade and can be stored in the costume room of a POH
78	75	Virtus robes	110M	Each piece of the Virtus robes gives a 2% magic damage bonus for a total of 6%. They are obtained as drops from the Leviathan, The whisperer, Vardorvis, and Duke Sucellus.

Best Ring Slot for Magic

Seers ring (I)	+6 magic attack bonus and +6 magic defence bonus	The seers ring is dropped by the Dagannoth Prime in the Waterbirth Island Dungeon. It can be imbued using 650,000 Nightmare Zone reward points, 260 Soul Wars Zeal tokens, or a Scroll of Imbuing, purchased for 200 Emir’s Arena reward points
Brimstone ring	+6 magic attack bonus and +6 magic defence bonus. It also gives a +4 slab attack and defence bonus, +4 stab attack and defence bonus, +4 crush attack and bonus, and +4 ranged attack and defence bonus.	This ring can be created by combining three untradeable components. Hydra’s eye, fang, and heart. Every time the player wearing this ring attacks using a spell or magical attack, there is a 25% chance that the opponent’s defensive roll will be reduced by 10% for that attack.
Magus ring	+15 magic attack bonus and an additional 2% magic bonus	The Magnus ring is one of the four ancient rings that give the highest magic attack bonus of any ring. Players must have killed Duke Sucellus at least once to wear, which is done during Desert Treasure II - The Fallen Empire. Cost: 61,139,062 GP

Best Hand Slot for Magic

Barrows gloves	+12 bonuses across all attack and defence bonuses.	The Barrows gloves can be purchased for 130,000 coins from the Culinaromancer’s chest in the Lumbridge castle cellar after completing the entire Recipe for Disaster quest. It gives a +6 magic attack and magic defence bonus.

Best Amulet for Magic

Starting from the neck slot items available at a low level and then progressing to the highest level

Ancient Wyvern shield	+15 magic attack and defence bonuses, along with a +72 stab defence bonus, +80 slash defence bonus, and +75 crush defence bonus.	This magical shield can be worn by players that have started Dragon Slayer I, with 70 magic and 75 defence
Arcane Spirit shield	+20 magic attack bonus and a +2 magic defence bonus. It also gives a +53 stab defence bonus, a +55 slash defence bonus, and a +52 ranged defence bonus.	This requires 75 defence, 65 magic, and 70 prayer to wield. It can be obtained by attaching an arcane sigil (rare drop from Corporeal beast) to a blessed spirit shield using a hammer at an anvil. Cost: 132,610,673 GP on the grand exchange
Spectral spirit shield	+20 magic defence bonus. It also gives a +53 stab defence bonus, a +55 slash defence bonus, a +73 crush defence bonus and a +52 ranged defence bonus.	This requires 75 defence, 70 prayer, and 65 magic to wield.
Mage’s book	It gives a +15 magic attack and defence bonus.	It requires 60 magic to wield. It gives the third-best magic attack bonus in the shield slot   It can be obtained by playing the Mage Training Arena minigame
Book of Darkness	It gives a +10 magic attack bonus.	This book can be purchased from Jossik for 5,000 coins after the completion of the Horror from the Deep quest.

Best Boot Slot for Magic

Eternal boots

The Eternal boots require 75 magic and defence to wear. It gives the highest magic attack bonus and the highest magic defence of any other pair of boots in OSRS. It gives +8 magic attack bonus and +8 magic defence bonus. Additionally, it gives a +1% magic damage bonus. 

Alternatively, players can wear mystic boots, ghostly boots, Splitbark boots, or Moonclan boots.

Best Cape Slot for Magic
