Minnows can be caught using a small fishing net at Kylie Minnow’s fishing platform at the Fishing Guild. They can be exchanged for noted raw sharks by trading with Kylie Minnow, at a rate of 40 Minnows for 1 shark. Since they can be caught relatively faster, catching and exchanging them for sharks is a faster method of getting sharks. Minnows are also stackable, so players won’t need a bank.
Catching Minnows is more click-intensive than other forms of net fishing because the fishing spots always move 1 tile in a clockwise direction, at a fixed rate of 15.6 seconds or 25 ticks. There is also a 1/10 chance that a fishing spot will spawn a flying fish, which will eat 16–26 minnows directly from the player’s inventory; players will have to click another fishing spot when this happens,
It’s a good idea to use RuneLite when catching minnows and ensure the fishing plugin is turned on, as it highlights each active minnow fishing spot and shows the time left before it moves. The highlight also turns red when a flying fish starts to eat the player’s minnows, allowing the player to react faster. This feature also shows how many fish you catch each hour, This method of catching sharks offers the player twice the raw sharks and XP rates from catching them from other fishing spots.
Catching Minnows is one of the best ways for ironman to get raw sharks, which can be cooked to train cooking and used as food for combat. Cooking a shark grants 210 fishing XP if successful, up to 1300 raw sharks can be cooked each hour, resulting in 273,000 cooking XP.
Minnows can be caught on the minnow platform, north of the Fishing Guild. To get here, players have to speak to Kylie Minnow, who will take them to this platform if they meet all the requirements which have been mentioned above. There are four minnow fishing spots here. This platform is not considered within the guild, so the invisible level boost will not take effect. After Kyrie takes a player to the fishing platform for the first time, they can row the boat next to him to get to the fishing platform when returning, without having to speak to him.
Here are the fastest ways to get to the fishing guild
Players will get an average of 26.1 fishing XP per catch of minnows. Here are the XP rates that players will get from actively catching Minnows at different fishing levels
Catching minnows is very profitable, especially for ironmen. It can also be a relaxing way to make some extra GP on regular accounts. Players can catch 10–14 minnows each time. The profit below assumes that the rada’s blessing is not worn. While wearing the rada blessing, the profits will increase based on the bonus of the tier of rada’s blessing worn
Cooking the raw sharks provides an additional profit of 258,700 GP for every 1300 sharks that can be cooked each hour.
